Angel Hill Surgery is a forward thinking General Medical Practice located in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. We are constantly striving to provide the very best medical services. We have over 14000 patients and aim to ensure that our care is individualised to your needs.
PRACTICE CLOSURE FOR STAFF TRAINING – From 12.00pm to 18:30pm on Thursday 21st November 2024, this practice will be closed for important clinical education and training purposes: Emergency cover will be provided, please telephone 111 to access these services:
All patients requiring on the day treatment may be directed to 111 in the first instance. It should not be necessary to advise patients to go to A&E directly, unless the patient feels it is for an emergency or life-threatening condition.
The following services will be provided:
· A telephone triage service for all patients
· Emergency on the day appointments at Drovers House, BSE and Unity, Haverhill
· Any clinically necessary home visits
Reception, admin, drivers and clinical staff at each of the bases below to cope with the patient’s requiring treatment:

Repeat prescription requests will not be dealt with during these times so please ensure sufficient notice is given to enable your practice to provide these for you prior to practice closure dates.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS – Please request your medication via email at angelhill.dispensary@nhs.net or via SystmOnline.

This policy ensures the efficient management of administrative resources while maintaining patient control over their own healthcare information.
SEDATIVE PRESCRIBING FOR FEAR OF FLYING – Sedative prescribing for fear of flying
APPOINTMENTS – To safeguard our staff and other patients, we have requested our trained reception team ask the nature of your problem so they can navigate your care to an appropriate clinician or service. We may request a GP or clinician to phone you to assess your condition before booking an appointment. Please phone the surgery on 01284 753008. Please also consider using e-Consult found on our Home page.
COMMUNICATION – To request a repeat prescription, please email angelhill.dispensary@nhs.net If you would like to contact reception/administration, such as sick notes to be emailed, blood test results, please email angelhill.receptionadmin@nhs.net to request this.

Accessibility is important to us. Angel Hill Surgery is close to the centre of Bury St Edmunds with a public car park directly outside. There are some spaces for disabled users.
We want you to able to contact us as easily as possible. We have online and telephone access to appointments. Our reception staff are specially trained to be able to help you find the most appropriate service to meet your needs.
Our extended opening hours give you more opportunities to see a doctor or nurse around your other commitments.
Urgent medical conditions can be seen within 24 hours by a Doctor or Practice Nurse.
We work with a number of different specialist services within the surgery so you can have blood tests, specialist diabetic community nurse appointments and mental health link worker reviews at Angel Hill Surgery.
